Great Turkish WarThe Great Turkish War (1683–1699) was a series of conflicts between the Ottoman Empire and the Holy League, ending with a decisive Ottoman defeat and the Treaty of Karlowitz. The Holy League included the Holy Roman Empire, Poland-Lithuania, Venice, and Russia. The war began with the Ottoman failure at Vienna, and after over a decade of fighting, the Ottomans lost substantial territory for the first time, with Habsburg influence extending into Hungary.

Nine Years' WarThe Nine Years' War was a major conflict from 1688 to 1697 between France and the Grand Alliance. Louis XIV sought European expansion, prompting the Grand Alliance to form against France. The war was fought primarily in Europe, with related conflicts in Ireland and North America.

Construction of Yonghe Temple BeginsIn 1694, the Kangxi Emperor ordered the construction of a residence for his fourth son, Yinzhen, on the site of former eunuch offices in Beijing. The building, later known as Prince Yong's Mansion, was renamed Yonghe Temple in 1725 and converted into a Gelug Tibetan Buddhist monastery in 1744, becoming a major center of Tibetan Buddhism in Beijing.

Completion of the Mecca Masjid in HyderabadIn 1694, the Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad, India, was completed under Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. It is the largest mosque in the city and one of the largest in India, with a capacity of 10,000 worshippers. A state-protected monument, it is located near landmarks like Charminar.
